Elegant and graceful, this Bordeaux-styled red shows Portugal's potential. Ripe fruit from old vines has been put through berry and barrel selection, giving such finesse that the wine is gorgeous now but will reward cellaring. This is the pet project of the Symington Port family and Bordeaux legend Bruno Prats: the pedigree is high and access to top vineyards is the deciding factor.
92/100 Wine Enthusiast (2018 Vintage)
"The junior partner of Chryseia, this wine has generous tannins that are already beginning to soften. They promise a ripe, berry fruit-flavoured wine, balanced with acidity and tannins and likely to be ready from 2023."

92/100 Decanter UK (2017 Vintage)
"With double the Touriga Franca of the Chryseia, this is distinctly mid-weight, with definition and persistence, despite the soft, sweet-scented puréed (and pure) black berry, cherry and plum fruit. Dusty, mineral tannins and a gentle play of dried herbs, esteva and balsamic add texture and lift. Aged in seasoned 400-litre French oak barrels, selected for subtlety, try this highly broachable, gastronomic wine with partridge, the local game bird."
