From the excellent 2021 vintage, this new vintage release of one of our more popular Pinot Noirs is back with the same nice deal offer as previously. With the price of even many entry level Central Otago Pinot Noirs heading towards $30.00+ this is exceptional value and we are all fans of that in these times!
Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"Run 245 was the pastural tenure number given to the land at Pisa in 1866. Since that time it has rewarded those who have walked it and represents the unique expression of Central Otago. Select parcels from across the region were chosen for this wine that have a unique expression, and when combined, truly reflect the essence of the terroir.
Aged for 9 months in one-third new aged french-oak barriques. With a bouquet of red fruits and earthy tones this wine displays bright red fruits, cherry and fine tannins on the palate. "
5 Stars & 18.5/20 (93) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, February 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Bright, light ruby red, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is gentle and alluring, with penetrating aromas of dark cherry, black raspberry, herb, floral fragrance and spice. Medium-light bodied, dark cherry and black raspberry aromas melded with savoury herb, cinnamon, black pepper and floral. The fruit is fresh and attractive with savoury and spice complexity; the mouthfeel is smooth with supple tannin extraction, lingering to an elegant finish. Match with smoked duck breast and lamb loin over the next 3-5 years. Fruit from Queensbury, fermented to 14% alc aged in old French oak barriques, 1/3 new for 9 months."
91/100 Cameron Douglas MS, April 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"This is a balanced and well made wine ready for drinking. Aromas and flavours of plum and cherry fruits, there’s a light savoury and dried herb quality layering in complexity and breadth on the palate. Fine tannins and medium+ acid line set a decent foundation for the core fruit flavours reflecting the bouquet. A well made wine ready for drinking from day of purchase through 2027."

4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"Offering excellent value, the 2019 vintage was matured for nine months in French oak barriques. Deep ruby, it is mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, with good concentration of youthful, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, savoury notes adding complexity, and supple, finely balanced tannins. Well worth cellaring to 2022+."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, March 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Gorgeously fruited and elegantly expressed, the bouquet shows dark plum, spiced cherry, thyme, toasted nut and olive characters. The palate displays lovely weight and rounded mouthfeel, together with fine texture and supple tannins, finishing long and soothing. At its best: now to 2023."
4 Stars & Best Buy Cuisine Pinot Noir Tasting, May 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Cranberry, raspberry and redcurrant spice and savouriness on the nose leading into the palate with a bright, juicy, vibrant red-fruit flavour base that after a few sips ascends into opulence. A charming style made to be very much enjoyed."
