Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"Shows restrained & delicate aromas of lime/lemon, citrus blossom and bath powder, along with some subtle wet slate characters too. Very clean and attractive. Displays the clarity and purity of an exceptional vintage. Fresh, crisp and quite delicate, the palate is loaded with attractive citrus characters. The lively acid provides much of the drive and sees the wine finish clean and dry with just a hint of talc like grip on the finish. Delicious.
This is the 34th release of our most important wine. The “Trad” always makes a terrific drink upon release, but 5 -7 years in the cellar will amply reward those who like their Rieslings with some bottle development."
95/100 James Halliday's Wine Companion (2018 Vintage)
"Employs estate and contract-grown fruit from Polish Hill River, Watervale and Sevenhill. It's a delicious wine with lime juice the dominant fruit, backed by balanced acidity. Some vignerons fared better than others in the vintage, Pikes on the good side. Drink by 2030."
93/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, November 2018 (2018 Vintage)
"Some spice and kaffir lime leaf, juicy citrus, pithy and chalky texture, a nice energy about it, delivering juicy flavour, crunch and a pretty impressive mouth-watering stony finish. Some gin and tonic sweetness/bitterness in the aftertaste. Excellent."

18.5/20 Joelle Thomson, October 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Clare Valley is Australia's best known Riesling region and the place in which 16 courageous wine producers pioneered screwcaps as a group initiative in 2000. Their wines tasted so fresh and the logic behind their closures was so flawless that the rest is history. And the wines have improved no end due to the closure, which preserves the flavours that make Riesling taste so great: fresh, crisp green apples, intense lime and peach. This dry wine is balanced beautifully by zesty acidity."
