PEWSEY VALE EDEN VALLEY RIESLING 2023

Top riesling from the Eden Valley. Pewsey Vale consistently set the bar high and 2023 vintage is no exception. Offering aromas of fine dried herbs, white florals and freshly cut citrus. The palate displays a combination of fresh rosemary, white pepper and tropical fruit. There's great length and depth, finishing with clean and balancing natural acidity.

"The first Riesling vineyard planted in Eden Valley more than 175 years ago. Consistent in flavour and quality from vintage to vintage. Flavourful and refreshing with an approachable, soft natural acidity iconic to Eden Valley.

Pale straw with green hues. Intense aromas of fine dried herbs, white flowers, lemons, lime and a hint of pineapple. A long, rich palate reminiscent of grapefruit, lime and fresh rosemary. The wine finishes with soft natural acidity that balances the flavour and minerality that is delicious now or will reward medium to long-term cellaring."

"Riesling sourced a single vineyard way up around 490m elevation in Pewsey Vale; made by winemaker Louisa Road. When I was living in the Eden Valley, 10km or so from this vineyard, we used to call Pewsey Vale riesling 'Eden Valley San Pellegrino', such was the gusto with which we consumed it. Nothing's changed. It's classic Eden Valley riesling through and through. Fresh limes, Christmas lily, a sizzling minerally line and thirst slakingly wonderful. Vital, vivid and essential summer drinking. Drink 2023 – 2033."

"Damn, this is a great Riesling. Year after year it delivers and once again it proves that Riesling is one of the best value wines you will find in Australia. Track this down for a glass of lemony delish. Almost clear in appearance, it's loaded with lemon juice and zest. A minerally drive sits at the core with Jasmine flower aromas heightening the experience. A little fleshy stonefruit makes a fleeting appearance in the mid-palate with green apple bunkering down. Some tension tightens things up with a talc finish to entice you back for more. Rieslings like this scream 'Come at me summer'. It's best you take up the invitation. Drink to five years+"

"This is a good estate riesling. A great go-to. Scents of Rose's Lime, quince, baked apple and tea tree, the acidity sneaking up to impart a gritty finish of talc and vitamin C, detracting. Just a bit shrill. Nevertheless, this will age well for those in pursuit of the Aussie style. Drink or hold."
