Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Crafted by the next generation of Peter Lehmann winemakers, THE Barossan showcases the superb fruit sourced from the many fabled sub-regions across the Barossa Valley. A selection of the Barossa’s key growers, renowned for their quality and skill, have shared their passion and pristine fruit to create this quintessential Barossa Valley Shiraz. Each parcel speaks to its vineyard origins, sharing a special and unique aspect of the sub-region.
Our winemakers have identified varying expressions of this classic varietal to blend together seamlessly, delivering a complex and layered wine with fruit intensity and suppleness. Aromas of mocha and liquorice notes lead to a full bodied Shiraz with juicy raspberry and dark plum flavours supported by spice from time in barrel. A silky soft finish, this wine can be cellared until 2024."
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, June 2022 (2019 Vintage)
"Juicy, fleshy, fruity and classic with flavours of cherry and black currant, dark toasty barrel flavours laced with clove and baked vanilla pod. Fresh and lively with plenty of acidity and moderate tannins for early drinking and with a core of concentrated berry flavours this wine is ready to drink from 2022 through 2026."

"Fleshy and smooth, this instantly appealing red is boldly coloured, fragrant and robust (14.5% alc/vol), with deep, plummy, spicy flavours, hints of liquorice and mint chocolate and a well-rounded finish."

"Glossy and inky in the glass, this shiraz delivers a sweet, plummy, roundhouse kick to your cakehole. Hints of toasted coconut merge with a smorgasbord of spices, buckets of berries and luxurious layers of cocoa-dusted character on the finish."
