Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"Highly scented Black Doris plum, blackberry and black currant aroma’s with hints of baking spice, cedar and fine spicy oak. The palate shows dark fruits dominated by plum and blackberry with a rich full mid palate supported by firm, ripe tannins and a long, sumptuous finish. Subtle oak influence provides spicy notes and added structure. This wine will continue to age gracefully for several years. Ideal drinking from 2020 to 2026."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, April 2021 (2018 Vintage)
"Ripe, rich and demanding core of fruit and scents of oak then dark spices, some tobacco and licorice, warm stony soil moments and toasty barrel. On the palate – equally ripe, fruity and intense with flavours that mirror the bouquet from dark berries and some cassis to roasted plums, a touch of chocolate and dark spices. The stony soil moments continue. Firm tannins and medium+ acidity leave a fine texture and dusty cocoa quality on the palate. Contrasting fruit flavours and a balanced, length finish. A lovely wine ready to drink from purchase and through 2025+."
91/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, February 2021 (2018 Vintage)
"Attractively fruited and enticing, the bouquet shows spiced plum, thyme, cured meat and cedar characters. The beautifully rounded palate displays lovely weight and persistency backed by fine texture and chalky tannins, finishing long and flavoursome. A blend of 37% merlot, 32% cabernet franc, 22% cabernet sauvignon & 9% malbec. At its best: now to 2025."
5 Stars & 18.5/20 Candice Chow for Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, January 2021 (2018 Vintage)
"Deep, ruby-black with some transparency, lighter ruby-red on the rim. The bouquet is gentle and fragrant, aromas of violet, red fruit with a hint of herbaceous melded with smoke and cedar. Full-bodied, flavours are elegantly presented with concentration, the nuance of plums, a little cassis, and red berries, which are succulent; unfolding sweet vanilla, cedar and nutmeg interweave rosemary and mint. Complexity and concentration on the palate, lengthy and breadth palate supported by fine-grained tannin extraction and integrated acidity, lends a sustained cedary finish. This is a complex and harmonious red blend with a breadth palate and fine-grained structure. Match with roasted meat, tomahawk over the next 6+ years. Fruit from Bridge Pa, a blend of Merlot 37%, Cabernet Franc 32%, Cabernet Sauvignon 22% and Malbec 9%. Destemmed, fermented in closed fermenters to 14% alc, aged in barrels for up to 12 months."
