Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Established in 1950 and now run by the third generation of the family, Pala is a specialist in Cannonau (aka Grenache). Cement and stainless steel tanks rather than oak barrels were used for the 6 month aging period plus 3 months of bottle aging before release.
Intense ruby-red colour with subtle spice and mature red fruit aromas. Medium-bodied with good structure and a lingering finish. Serve with both white and red meats, spicy foods and flavourful cheeses."
92/100 James Suckling (2017 Vintage)
"A sexy cannonau with fresh herbs, orange peel, wild strawberries, lilacs and rose petals. Tightly wound and edgy with bright acidity and a firm finish. Drink now."
88/100 Wine Enthusiast (2017 Vintage)
"This rounded red opens with subtle aromas of ripe black-skinned berry, scorched earth and a whiff of grilled herb. The straightforward palate reflects the nose, offering black cherry, white pepper and a hint of clove alongside light loose tannins before a rather dusty close."

92+/100 Vinous (2016 Vintage)
"Bright red-ruby. Strongly floral nuances on a nose that hints at raspberry, red currant and spicy herbs. Enters fresh and juicy; vibrant red cherry and berry flavours are complicated by faded rose petal notes. An almost dainty wine that finishes long but light on its feet. This is a lovely example of Cannonau. 13.5% alcohol."
88/100 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, December 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"The 2016 Cannonau di Sardegna I Fiori is a youthful and carefree red wine to drink with your favourite pasta dishes or with takeout pepperoni pizza. The wine is inherently informal and easygoing with bright cherry and blackberry aromas. But it also has the fresh acidity to cut through the cheese and the fat in those foods. You just can't go wrong with a totally down-to-earth and unassuming wine like this.
