Great buying on this awesome Pinot Noir from Greystone.
Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"Nose of bright cherries, spice and a hint of smoky oak. The palate is warm and inviting showing luscious red berry flavours, velvety texture and an elegant fresh finish."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, April 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Delightfully fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows dark cherry, raspberry, thyme, toasted nut and subtle mushroom characters. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight and roundness, wonderfully supported by silky texture and fine-grained tannins, finishing persistent and very tasty. At its best: now to 2023."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2018 Vintage)
"From vineyards 'scattered across the region', the 2018 vintage was grown at Waipara, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for 10 months in French oak barriques. Ruby-hued, it is a mouthfilling, supple wine with moderately concentrated, gentle cherry, plum and spice flavours, nutty, savoury notes adding complexity, and a well-rounded finish. Best drinking mid-2021+."
4 Stars & 17.5/20 Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, June 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Bright, light ruby-red colour, lighter on edge. The nose is fresh with delicate nuances of cherry, raspberry fruit, underlying subtle cherry blossom, dry herbs entwined with a layer of fragrant, nutty oak and gamey character. Medium-light bodied, the palate is lively with mouthwatering acidity carries flavours of raspberries, red cherries; enlivened by subtle herbs and blossoms essence. Reminiscent of liquorice, nutty oak fragrant lifted an opulent sense to the finish. The tannin is firm with a fine-grained textured line. This is a lively lightweight Pinot Noir with a fine-grained tannin structure, juicy red fruit and delicate blossoms and herbs scent entwined with subtle nutty oak elements. Match with pork and poultry over the next 3 years. Wild fermented to 13%alc, aged 10 months in French oak barrels. No fining. Vegan."

93/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, May 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"Gently aromatic wine with bright cherry, crushed herb, anise, spice and nutty oak flavours. A supple, accessible, medium-bodied Pinot Noir with character and sophistication. It offers good value at this price."
91/100 James Suckling, August 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"This is a dark-fruited, rich and succulent, cherry-flavoured Pinot that has immediate appeal and delivers so much rich, fresh cherry flavour in a simple, drinkable guise."
90/100 Wine Advocate, July 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"The 2017 Nor'wester Pinot Noir (a reference to the prevailing winds) offers up a pleasing combination of mossy oak, savoury, meaty notes and ripe cherries. It's medium-bodied, with a soft, dusty tannin structure and mouthfeel, and a lingering, silky finish. Nicely done."
