Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Crunchy pear, elderflower, lemon zest and vanilla bean on the nose with more citrus notes to follow on the palate. White blossom and refined stone fruit on the front palate leads to an finely textured mid palate that finishes long and fresh.
Parcels of fruit were hand-picked from a 20 year old vineyard in Gibbston in mid-April 2020. Whole bunches were loaded into the press and the juice gently extracted over a three hour cycle with no press cuts. The juice was settled in tank overnight before being racked to neutral barrel (11%) and a stainless steel tank (89%).
The wine in barrel was kept on lees for 3.5 months with no stirring and the stainless component was racked off gross less post fermentation. We captured the essence of the cool growing season with two selective picks. The resulting wine is complexly layered with great ageing potential and endless food pairing possibilities."

"Gorgeously styled and expressed, the elegantly lifted bouquet shows apricot, poached pear, Gala apple and subtle spice notes with a hint of oatmeal complexity. It's concentrated and beautifully rounded on the palate, delivering silky texture backed by vibrant acidity, making it brilliantly structured and immensely appealing. At its best: now to 2025."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2020 Vintage)
"The 2020 vintage was hand-harvested at Gibbston and mostly handled in stainless steel tanks; 11 per cent of the blend was fermented in old oak barrels. Richly scented, it is fresh and full-bodied, with strong, vibrant pear, lychee and spice flavours, appetising acidity and a dry finish. Still very youthful, it's well worth cellaring to 2022+."
4 Stars & 18/20 Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, November 2020 (2020 Vintage)
"Bright, pale yellow with some depth and a green hue, slightly lighter on edge. The nose is soft and coy, slowly penetrating aromas of citrus, lemonade intermix quinces, apricots, floral elements and mouthwatering minerals. Dry to taste, medium-light bodied, crunchy citrus leads the drive, nuances of kumquats and its zest with concentration, along with apricots and quinces, interweave crunchy minerals and a subtle note of spices. Brilliant, refreshing acidity provides drive and frame with a verve impression, slightly oily flow rounded the edges. Delicate spices follow kumquats freshness, lend a refreshing closing. This is a citrusy Pinot Gris with flavours of kumquats, and zesty spices flow with vibrancy on a mineral line. Match with salt & pepper calamari and Vietnamese fare over the next 2-3 years. Handpicked fruit from Gibbston, whole bunch pressed, 11% fermented on older barrels and left on lees for 3.5 months without stirring, 89% fermented in stainless steel, 13% alc."

92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, February 2020 (2019 Vintage)
"A captivating bouquet with aromas of fleshy, ripe and gently spicy white fleshed fruits – pears and nectarine, apple and orange peel. A light oily and spicy texture to the bouquet makes me think of Alsace Gris. On the palate – a texture driven beginning with a nice phenolic bite backed up by the acidity, flavours of tree, citrus and white fleshed stone fruits, a gentle Asian spice layer adds depth and complexity. Fresh, youthful, firm, balanced and well made. Drink now and through 2022."
