Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2020
Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Aromas of ripe cherry and plum characters, supported by hints of savoury spice and dried herb. The palate is approachable with soft tannins and intense fruit flavour. Silky texture and great length.
Weather conditions through Pinot Noir flowering were poor, resulting in extremely light crops. We then had very warm and dry weather through January, February and March. As a result, the Pinot Noir wines we made in the 2019 vintage are some of the most intense and concentrated that we’ve ever made. Our 2019 Pinot Noir is a blend sourced from three of our Marlborough vineyards situated in the Southern Valleys sub-region. Diversity of clone allowed us to make a complex and complete wine with vibrant, pure fruit character and depth of flavour. Grapes were cold soaked, fermented in small parcels and aged for nine months in French oak barriques."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2020 (2019 Vintage)
"Offering terrific fruit purity and elegance, the fragrant bouquet shows dark cherry, blueberry, floral, olive and almond characters. The palate delivers lovely weight and fleshy texture, beautifully complemented by silky mouthfeel and fine tannins. Gorgeously composed and soothing. At its best: now to 2023."
