Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Perfumed with lovely aromatics, there is a range of complexed fruit notes of darker berry fruit, some spice, savoury tones and dried herbs. The 2017 has a silky and lush texture fruit power, is concentrated yet finely balanced with fine tannins throughout and long in flavour. A more classic vintage for us.
Vinified using open fermenters, hand plunging, natural yeasts, and 11 months in French oak – 15 % new – before racking and settling in tank for a further 4 months. Fermentation was carried out using de-stemmed fruit including the addition of 25% whole bunches, plus several tanks of 100% whole bunch fruit fermentation. No filtration or fining, deposits may form. Organically grown, made and certified."

5 Stars Michael Cooper (2016 Vintage)
"The classy 2016 vintage of this regional blend was fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for 11 months in French oak casks (15 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep ruby, it is fragrant, youthful, savoury and supple, with ripe cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, showing excellent complexity and harmony. A very refined and age-worthy wine, it should be at its best 2019+. Certified organic."
18.5/20 Joelle Thomson, Drinks Biz Magazine, June 2019 (2016 Vintage)
"This is one of Central Otago’s best Pinot Noirs – full stop. It is made with certified organic grapes grown in several subregions of Central Otago. Winemakers Duncan Forsyth and Anna Riederer aim to create a consistently outstanding Pinot Noir with great fruit concentration, spicy aromas and a full body with a silky smooth, lingering finish. They more than succeed in this winning wine."
95/100 Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, June 2019 (2015 Vintage)
"This is one for now and for cellar, shy, finely wrought, lacy in texture, light yet shows inherent personality of dark cherry, spice-laden, slightly herbal fruit character. Tannins are fine, lithe, tightening as they coil through the wine. Acidity, a feature, pools fresh and cool in the mix. It’s a magical wine, ethereal-feeling, even if that word sticks in my craw. It’s a beautiful wine showing us all how delicacy can impress, and how detail is key in great wine. Wonderful expression."
