This Grand Reserve bottling is a step up from the everyday rosé from Mount Brown. A selection of the best Tempranillo grapes is used for this giving a refreshing departure from the many Pinot Noir based rosés on the market. The result is a crisp, dry and mouthwatering rosé that has a sumptuous texture, lovely balanced acidity and an endearing fruitiness that keeps this very approachable.
All round a delicious rosé that is a step up from most on the market and at this price is a no-brainer!
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Complex aromas of berries, ripe cherry. The palate is full and inviting, showing great balance between weight & texture. A dry finish makes for a crisp and refreshing wine. The wine is made from Tempranillo and Pinot Noir grapes. The soil is Glasnevin Gravels, free draining and stony, on a warm site in the Waipara Valley. Tempranillo was chosen for this wine for its ability to show fine texture and acidity."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, October 2023 (2023 Vintage)
"Delightfully charming and elegant, the wine shows crunchy apple, lemon peel, nectarine and sweet strawberry aromas, followed by a finely expressed palate that's juicy and lively, offering fabulous drinking. At its best: now to 2025."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, October 2023 (2023 Vintage)
"A very attractive bouquet of light red berry fruits and yellow plum, a floral mineral quality adds breadth and complexity. Youthful, refined and fresh. On the palate a dry rose with flavours of plum and red cherry with a light tropical fruit quality. A we of texture with fine tannins and a lees texture delivers, shape and form contrasting flavours and youthful energy. Balanced and well made, ready to drink from late 2023 through end of summer 2026."
