Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"Made from 100% Syrah and barrel fermented this is a beautiful deep red Rosé with gorgeous red berry and cherry aromas. Complex aromas of preserved cherries and strawberry jam. The palate is juicy and inviting, showing great balance between minerality, weight & texture. A dry finish (4g RS) makes for a crisp and refreshing wine.
Just 90 dozen cases were made of this outstanding Rosé. It underwent a cool ferment after 24 hours on skins, resulting in a fruit forward wine and retaining a beautiful cherry colour. The juice was then pressed directly to barrel (100% old french oak) where it underwent a wild ferment. Full malolactic fermentation was completed by early summer."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, February 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"There’s no mistaking the natural deep pink and red hues leading to aromas of fresh red currant, raspberry and cherry. There’s a natural spice, dark roses and raspberry red zinger tea quality reflecting the 100% Syrah foundation. Natural, fragrant and enticing. Warm and fruity as the wine touches the palate, flavours that reflect the bouquet intensify too, enhanced by very fine tannins and youthful acid line. Balanced, well made and ready. Enjoy with food or on its own and chill for service with best drinking from 2022 through 2025."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2021 Vintage)
"The highly attractive 2021 vintage is rare – fewer than 100 cases were produced. Made from Syrah and fermented and aged in old French oak barrels, it is a bright pink/pale red wine, full-bodied, with fresh, generous, berryish, plummy flavours, lively acidity and a basically dry (4 grams/litre of residual sugar), smooth finish. Good value."
