"A long dry summer followed by a cool autumn produced this delicious Chardonnay. Medium to full bodied, the palate has good weight with citrus fruit flavours. Fruit was pressed straight to oak barrels. No malolactic fermentation has resulted in a crisp, refreshing style."

"Aromas of vanilla cream and peaches, baked apple and sweet French oak. Classic, familiar, vibrant and youthful. Lots of weight and impact as the wine touches the palate, flavours of oak and barrel spices, toasty, youthful and textured. Flavours of white and yellow-fleshed stone fruits, citrus peel and baking spices. Contrasting acidity, a gunflint note and fine wood tannins complete the palate including a coarse silk texture. Well made and ready to drink from mid-2022 through 2026."

Mount Brown Estates is located in the foothills of Waipara Valley's Mount Brown, in the North Canterbury wine region.
From truly humble beginnings (a small abandoned vineyard overgrown with waist-high weeds), Tony Rutherford and his daughter Catherine Keith have since turned their once-daunting vision into reality, now boasting three award-winning vineyards and a winery.
Mount Brown Estates keeps their whole process—from grape to bottle—in-house, to be able to ensure desired quality standards. This was made possible when they built their winery and bottling line on the Lime Loader vineyard in 2013.
The foundation for their success is built on their gold medal-winning Riesling and Pinot Noir.
A wide-ranging recognition is increasingly coming from their Pinot Gris, which is perfectly suited to the North Canterbury terroir.
