Mont’Albano was founded in 1985 in the heart of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, as a result of the intuition of Mauro Braidot who, unlike the majority of the producers of the time, converted his 5 hectares (12.3 acres) of vineyard to organic production. Since these early beginnings the company has not taken long to grow, thanks to its philosophy and its excellent wines from Friuli.
If this grape isn't on your radar, then we think it should be as its Sicily's most important red varietal! This particular Nero d'Avola was sourced from Monte Albano's Southwestern Sicilian organic vineyards. In the winery these grapes were aged in stainless steel. Red ruby with violet hues in the glass with an intense forest-berry bouquet alongside hints of violets and spices. Supple, velvety taste with a spicy finish.
