This is such a good Pinot! The quality of fruit from Dominic Mondillo's prized Bendigo vineyard has given a Pinot Noir that is bursting with dark cherry and savoury flavours. Full and velvety in the mouth this is absolutely delicious. Outstanding for less than $40!
Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Deeply coloured with a sweet fragrance and a spicy nut bouquet. Generous ripe cherry, boysenberry and dark plum flavours with finely integrated oak. This vintage is beautifully balanced with a smooth velvety richness. The fruit was hand harvested in March 2022, 100% de-stemmed followed by a long cold maceration, fermented slowly and gently pressed. This wine has been filtered, is unfined and aged in French oak barriques, of which 25% were new, for 11 months. Serve with beef, stuffed eggplant, rich tomato/mushroom based recipes, pork, lamb or pizza!"

"The highly fragrant 2022 vintage was estate-grown at Bendigo, hand-harvested and matured for 11 months in French oak barriques (25 per cent new). A mouthfilling, elegant, savoury wine, it has generous cherry, plum and spice flavours, gently seasoned with nutty oak, and ripe, supple tannins. Refined and ageworthy, it's well worth cellaring to mid-2025+."
Rated Excellent & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, July 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"An excellent bouquet of Pinosity and charm, variety and finesse. Central Otago dried herb and ripe cherry fruit aromas with layers of new and used barrel, baking spices and stony mineral core. Flavours on the palate reflect the bouquet with an abundance of ripe fine tannins, some chalky textures and plenty of acidity. A delicious wine destined to age well as well as delivering on variety and ripe fruits, texture, charm and Pinosity. Best drinking from 2024 through 2034."
5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, July 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"The grapes were 100% de-stemmed and given a long, cold maceration to emphasise fruit flavour. Filtered but unfined, the wine was aged in French oak barriques (25% new). From one of the earliest vineyard sites in Bendigo. Delicately aromatic pinot noir with a mix of floral/violet, cassis, bright cherry, spice and subtle vanilla flavours. The wine shows impressive purity and length. Delicious now but should develop well with bottle age."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"Gorgeously elegant and delightfully complex, the fragrant bouquet shows dark plum, violet, roasted nut and wild mushroom aromas. The palate delivers juicy fruit intensity with fleshy texture and beautifully infused tannins, finishing splendidly long and flowing. Wonderfully composed with finesse and harmony. At its best: now to 2034."
