Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"The Nessus 2017 Shiraz is sourced from our vineyards at the southern end of McLaren Vale, close to the seaside town of Port Willunga. The rich, heavy clay soils and warm summer days produce a deeply coloured, full flavoured wine with soft, silky tannins. Matured in older oak barrels, The Nessus Shiraz has unobscured purity, a boisterous wild side, juxtaposed opposites delicately balanced just like the emotions of its namesake Nessus the centaur."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, October 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"Superbly ripe and fragrant, the inviting nose shows blackberry, blueberry compote, vanilla and cocoa characters with a hint of pepper spice. The palate delivers lovely fruit weight and richness, wonderfully supported by smooth texture and fleshy mouthfeel. A fabulous drinking shiraz. At its best: now to 2021."
Winsor Dobbin, June 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"This is a quintessentially Australian red wine; bold and full of flavour; ready to enjoy right away with meaty dishes or hard cheeses but capable of being cellared for a few years. I marked it down as being much more expensive than it actually is; making it a very good option for the price. Made from shiraz grapes sourced from the southern end of McLaren Vale, it is forward, fruit-driven, soft and smooth. Older oak plays a laid-back but solid support role but it is the dark, supple fruit that leads the way. Very gluggable."
93/100 Tony Keys, The Key Report, June 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"It’s young, and the nose is wonderfully fresh, vibrant fruits. I’m sure it will get more complex and probably go through a dumb stage as well, but for now it’s a joy, it’s springtime (though tasted in June). It’s alive across the palate, with light skipping hops, again full of joy. Light wine and light finish but good."
91/100 Ray Jordan, Top 100 Red Wines, The West Australian, July 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"Punchy and powerful expression of McLaren Vale from one of the region’s best. Dark chocolate and ripe satsuma plum in abundance. Bit of a fruit bomb with a decent bang for your buck"
