Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"A rich full bodied wine, this blend exudes intense blackcurrant, blackberry and plum flavours, layered with mocha and spicy cedary oak. Ageing in quality oak has conferred a velvety smooth texture, for immediate appeal, or for judicious cellaring.
The grapes for this generous wine were exclusively sourced from low yielding vines on alluvial soils within our prestigious Bridge Pa vineyard in Hawkes Bay. The 2019 growing season experienced ideal weather conditions. Hot days and moderate-cool nights allowed for perfect ripening conditions for harvesting in excellent condition."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"The 2019 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (55 per cent) and Merlot (45 per cent), grown in the Bridge Pa Triangle and matured in French oak casks (25 per cent new). Full-coloured, it is mouthfilling, with generous blackcurrant, red berry and spice flavours, a hint of herbs, integrated oak, supple tannins and a smooth finish. Made in an easy-drinking style, it's already very enjoyable."
NZ Bordeaux Red Tasting, Dish.co.nz, August 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Want to wow the crowds? Here’s your ticket. Bright, floral, bursting with plum and boysenberry flavours and a whisker of mint chocolate and leather – our judges felt it was a youthful, dangerously drinkable all-rounder."
