Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"This distinguished single vineyard Chardonnay exudes presence and finesse. The palate is wonderfully mouth-filling and warm, with intense aromas of orange blossom and stone fruits intertwined with peach and pear flavours in harmony with fine French oak seasoning, leading to a subtle, butterscotch, lychee and pomelo finish. Instantly appealing, enjoy now or allow to age gracefully with careful cellaring."

5 Stars Angie Atkinson, The Wine Writer (2019 Vintage)
"Hand harvested grapes were fermented with a combination of wild and inoculated yeasts to add complexity and show the vineyard’s unique terroir. Aged in French oak, of which 32% was new, for a period of 12 months. Medium gold in colour with intense aromas of stone fruit, apple, juicy grapefruit, smoky oak with a trace of flint and a touch of sweet vanilla. The palate is powerful and concentrated with a creamy texture. The flavours of white peach, just ripe apricot and floral notes blend perfectly with the oak derived spices to make a powerful but structured Chardonnay."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"Past vintages under the top Elspeth label flowed from the Gimblett Gravels, but the stylish 2019 was hand-picked in the cool, elevated Riverview Vineyard. Fermented and matured for a year in French oak casks (32 per cent new), it is mouthfilling, with vibrant, peachy, citrusy flavours, showing good delicacy, well-integrated oak, fresh acidity, and a tightly structured finish. Best drinking 2022+.
Cameron Douglas MS (2019 Vintage)
"An enticing bouquet with a finesse, enticing complexity and a layer of purity. Flavours of lightly roasted stone fruits and apple, citrus then cashew and brazil nut. Vanilla cream and mild baking spices, medium+ acidity, oak and spices and smoke emerge as the wine opens up in glass. Creamy and full-bodied with an opulent core and lengthy finish."
