Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Kids Block has all the hallmarks of the Mt Maude Vineyard Pinot Noirs, beautifully scented with violets, dark cherry, bramble and dried herb aromas. Medium – full bodied with layers of dark fruits and fine tannins.
Kids Block refers to Mount Maude's custodians – Dawn and Terry Wilson's grandchildren. A row was planted for each grandchild, all planted in 2000 and all different Dijon clones."
Reviews for the 2016 vintage below…
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2016 Vintage)
"Invitingly fragrant, the 2016 vintage is based on estate-grown vines planted in 2000. Matured in French oak casks (30 per cent new), it is still unfolding. Ruby-hued, savoury and mouthfilling, with ripe cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, finely balanced tannins and impressive complexity, it should be at its best 2021+."
5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review (2016 Vintage)
"Kids' refers to the Kids Block, a vineyard in which the owners dedicated a row of grapevines to each of their grand-children. Scented, savoury pinot noir with fresh herb, spice, floral and oak flavours. A supple, complex wine with cellaring potential. Drink 2018 to 2023."
