Winery notes (2016 Vintage)
"As all the best Grands Crus from the Medoc area, Loudenne vineyard is benefiting from an exceptional terroir: 2 gravely hills that slope gently down to the banks of the Gironde estuary.
Aromas of dark fruits (ripe blackcurrant and black cherry griotte) and spices with a touch of liquorice and vanilla. The palate has a very convincing start, broad and immediately textural, with a nice weight through the middle. Beautiful long and persistent finish."
Wine Enthusiast (2016 Vintage)
"After new investment and new owners, this estate is beginning to regain its former glory. This wine is rich, structured with a mineral texture from the deep gravel of the vineyard. It will develop well. Drink from 2022."
5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, March 2022 (2016 Vintage)
"Deep, dense and ripe cabernet sauvignon-dominant red with merlot in support and with a dash of cabernet franc. Concentrated Christmas cake flavours including cassis, blackberry, cedar, cigar-box, new leather and spicy oak. Drinkable now but it should develop well in bottle for the next decade or two. A good buy at this price."
