Incredible buying on this full bodied and absolutely delicious Adelaide Hills Shiraz that teems with dark fruits and plush tannins. The slightly cooler climate of the Adelaide Hills adds touches of cracked pepper and florals and a bit of the wild side through the lengthy finish. It's a big striking wine yet somehow still bestows a sense of elegance. Yakka denotes hard work in Aussie slang but nothing could be easier about this wine than its fantastic drinkability and it's stunning value at this super discounted price.
Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Aromas of Black cherries and plum with baking spices. The palate is Plush and bright with silky smooth tannins. True to vintage this wine delivers great structure and elegance. The wine is aged in old and new (20%) French oak hogsheads for around 15 months. Excellent to drink now and will benefit with 10+ years."
5 Stars & 95/100 Huon Hooke, The Real Review (2017 Vintage)
"Deep red colour with good tinges of purple and a chocolate, vanilla and blackberry bouquet, the palate powerful and concentrated, with a warmth of alcohol and meaty nuances. The wine is bright and incisive, piercing and long. A quite impressive, profound yet elegant Shiraz. Delicious drinking."
5 Stars & 95/100 Gourmet Traveller (2017 Vintage)
"A delicious Hills Shiraz that drinks well young and has what it takes to cellar for quite a few years. There are chocolate, vanilla, blackberry aromas and the palate adds some meaty charcuterie notes while delivering power and concentration. A very smart Shiraz."
92/100 Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, November 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"Good heft this year. It almost makes it feel a little old school. Toast and vanilla characters, maybe even coffee-cream, melt into asphalt, black cherry and roasted plum. The smooth face of hearty. Firm with tannin too. A substantial red."
