Gold Medal & 94/100 – Berlin International Wine Competition 2020
Kingston Estate's origins start in the 1960's when Greek immigrants to Australia Nina and Steve Moularadellis met each other while picking grapes in the Riverland in 1961. They soon bought a plot of land on which to build a farming business and in 1965 they proudly picked the first grapes off their own vineyard.
From those humble beginnings Kingston Estate has grown to to become one of Australia’s most significant grape growers and wine exporters. Still owned by the Moularadellis family and based in the Riverland region, they also have vineyard holdings across many other regions such as Coonawarra, Limestone Coat, Central Victoria and the Clare Valley.
Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Our Kingston Estate range represents accessible luxury, that special delight to be enjoyed any night of the week. Single varietal wines, hand selected by our winemakers to display true varietal flavour. Clare Valley is one of Australia’s oldest wine producing areas. The unique combination of geography, geology and climate is synonymous for producing high quality wines.
Outstanding quality wine from a vintage with smaller berry size and lighter crops as a result of lower than average rainfall. Abundant dark spicy fruits with subtle pepper notes and skilfully integrated toasty oak. The rich vibrant ripe fruits resonate seamlessly with soft silky tannins to give a long velvet textured finish."
