Winery notes (2015 Vintage)
"Lush tropical fruit intertwines with lemon, lime and floral notes. Elegantly layered, this Grand Reserve Chardonnay exhibits a rich texture and firm backbone with a hint of vanilla and spice to round out the long finish."

5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, January 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"This is a gorgeously opulent chardonnay displaying grilled peach, vanilla, cedar and brioche characters on the nose, leading to a sumptuous palate that is filled with delectable fruit flavours and stylish oak infusion. The wine offers lovely richness and intensity, beautifully framed by seamlessly integrated acidity, finishing long and creamy. At its best: now to 2020."

5 Stars & 18.5/20 Raymond Chan, January 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, pale on rim. The nose is elegant in presentation with tightly bound aromas of piquant white and yellow stonefruits lifted by yellow floral elements and nutty oak, and complexed by minerally lees detail. Full-bodied, the palate is refined and firmly bound with concentrated and intense, vibrant flavours of peaches, nectarines and citrus fruits. The fruit is entwined with subtle nutty oak and minerally lees elements lending complexity. The wine follows a fine-featured and textured line with underlying lacy acidity, and alcoholic power, carrying to a sustained finish with finesse and interwoven nuance. This is an elegantly proportioned, refined Chardonnay with fresh stonefruit and citrus flavours, nutty oak and lees complexities, and underlying power. Match with poultry, pork and veal dishes over the next 5+ years. 53% Monterey County and 47% Santa Barbara County fruit fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 8 months in 79% French oak, with 29% new, and the remainder in American oak, undergoing batonnage."

90/100 Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate (2015 Vintage)
"The 2015 Chardonnay Grand Reserve is a coastal cuvée from the Jackson holdings in Monterey and Santa Barbara. A hundred percent barrel-fermented for eight months, this wine emerges primarily from Dijon and Rued Chardonnay clones. Loads of tropical fruits like pineapple, mango and guava are present in the aromatics of this rich, zesty, luxurious style of Chardonnay, which offers a boatload of fruit in a somewhat dramatic, in-your-face style. There’s plenty of it (153,000 cases) and the price is irresistible. Drink it over the next several years."

Sue Courtney,, January 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"Quite a yellow gold in the glass and the bouquet seems quite mellow with vanilla infused cedar offering a point of difference to the norm. Savoury in the palate with brightness to the spicy oak and a soft, full-bodied, smooth flowing, creamy texture and a long pleasing finish with a suggestion of smoked panna cotta and peaches."
