Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"The partial wild and malolactic fermentations along with the extended lees maturation in barrel have added complexity and texture to the wine. The palate is smooth and round with lovely balance of minerality and well refined acid. Juicy stonefruit & citrus flavours are combined with mealy, creamy layers and subtle hints of French oak."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Stylish and flavoursome at the same time, the wine shows elegantly lifted aromas of white flesh stone fruit, nougat, vanilla, hazelnut and subtle oatmeal on the nose. The palate is succulent and wonderfully weighted, delivering fabulous fruit flavours backed by creamy mouthfeel and refreshing acidity. Beautifully styled and composed. At its best: now to 2021."

4 Stars Michael Cooper (2017 Vintage)
"The 2017 vintage was grown at two sites in the Wairau Valley, at the base of the southern hills. Just over half of the blend was handled in tanks, but 45 per cent was barrel-fermented (with one-third of the barrels being new). Mouthfilling and vibrantly fruity, it's a stylish young wine with grapefruit-like flavours to the fore, a subtle seasoning of oak adding complexity, and a long, dry, slightly creamy finish. Best drinking mid-2019+."

90/100 Cameron Douglas MS, July 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Attractive and familiar bouquet of Chardonnay with a aromas and flavours of baking spices, fleshy yellow and white stone fruit, a layer of grape fruit and citrus peel and moderate creamy texture.  The flavour of baked custard and wood spice add both texture and complexity. The wine shows great harmony in a ready to drink expression with plenty of fruit and balanced use of oak. Medium+ length and finish. Drink now and through 2022."

4 Stars & 17.5+/20 Raymond, July 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Bright straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, paler edged. The nose is elegant in proportion with a tight core of fresh white stonefruits with nuances of citrus fruit and subtle notes of fresh herbs along with delicate nutty lees and oak elements. This is fresh and thirst-quenching, revealing flint and mineral elements with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate is finely presented with subtle, but intricate flavours of white and yellow stonefruits with citrus fruit entwined with creamy barrel-fernt nuances, some nutty and toasty oak, and hints of lemon-curd MLF. The palate has fruit richness and lusciousness, forming a sweet core, with refreshing acidity enlivening the palate, which leads to a lingering, nutty, smoky finish. This is and elegant, rich and sweet-fruited, but refreshing Chardonnay with stonefruit flavours along with some creamy, nutty oak interest. Match with seafood and creamy poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Anderson’ Brancott Valley and ‘Meadowbank’ vineyard, Taylors Pass, WBP direct to barrel with light solids and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months on lees in barrel with partial MLF."
