65% Shiraz & 35% Cabernet Sauvignon

The Barry Bros Shiraz Cabernet is one of those great drinking Aussie reds that disappears before you realise. It's full and juicy, bursting with red and dark fruits, has a touch of cherry liqueur with enough gentle spice, earthy notes and the merest hint of mint coming through on the finish to keep it all in balance. The tannins are soft and approachable the whole package is simply delicious.

Winery notes (2015 Vintage)
"Just as the two previous generations brought new and innovative viticultural and winemaking ideas to Jim Barry Wines, we are determined to forge our individual mark. We have taken inspiration from our family’s history to create this wine. Our two favourite varieties, Shiraz and Cabernet, were blended to deliver a contemporary expression of this traditional Australian style.

Decorates the glass with a bright magenta colour. Juicy and vibrant on the nose, this wine displays red and dark fruit flavours – raspberry, blackberry, and cherry, with lifts of violet florals and sweet spice. The palate is lively and bright with a burst of red fruits. A medium bodied composition with soft, fine grained tannins give length and depth, finishing with a touch of spice and savoury oak. Very easy drinking, this wine is ready to be enjoyed now, but will drink to 2020."

4 Stars & 17.0+/20 Raymond Chan, May 2018 (2015 Vintage)
"Dark, deep, black-hued red colour, a little lighter on the edge. The nose is very soft, full and accessible with blackcurranty Cabernet Sauvignon predominating, along with dark herbs and mint notes, unfolding nuances of spice and cedar. This is very harmonious and integrated. The palate is rich, soft and plush with juicy and savoury flavours of plum jam, along with dark raspberries, spices and notes of red and blackcurrants. The mouthfeel is rounded and luscious with soft tannin extraction and low acidity enhancing the fruit richness. The palate has a little alcohol drive and the wine flows gently and smoothly to a lingering finish with curranty and eucalyptus elements. This is an integrated wine showing the Cabernet on the nose and Shiraz on the palate. Very easy drinking over the next 3+ years. A blend of 65% Shiraz and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented to 14.2% alc., the wine aged in French and American oak."
