Winery notes (2016 Vintage)
"Over the past 55 years our family has developed and nurtured a mosaic of vineyards, each unique in site, soil and aspect.
Distinct parcels of fruit are selected to make wines that reflect the vineyard from which the grapes are grown. This Cabernet was selected from our Kirribilli vineyard in the Coonawarra and shows the hallmark richness and intensity of wines grown on the region's famous Terra Rossa soil.
This wine is a deep red with a crimson hue. This is an elegant wine with lifted floral aromas complimented by savoury earth, mint and tobacco notes. Vibrant cassis and red berry fruit are in abundance. On the palate the wine has a very fine structure It is well balanced with blackberry, cherry and cassis fruit flavours. Fine, grainy tannins are well integrated, providing the framework for the wine to develop for many years."
92/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, September 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"Good wine here, finding some elegance and fine structure, with a mix of red and black fruits, mint, tobacco and nutty oak. Medium-bodied, bramble fruit, savoury earthy flavours, grainy tannin, and a tobacco laced finish of fair length. Nicely done. Classy, rather than exciting, if you take my meaning."

4 Stars & 18.0-/20 Raymond Chan, May 2018 (2015 Vintage)
"Dark, deep, ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the edge. The nose is softly full with gentle volume of blackcurrant fruit melded with cedary oak. The bruit grows in expression and intensity to show nuances of mint and eucalypt. The palate is sweetly rich with gently mouthfilling flavours of blackcurrants and blackberries with cassis notes along with nuances of mint herb and cedary oak. The flavours are harmonious and well-integrated, and supported by fine-grained tannin structure and refined grip, with soft acidity enhancing the richness. As the wine flows, subtle earthy complexities emerge. This is a rich, soft and mouthfilling Cabernet Sauvignon with lovely harmony. It will keep well for another 5-6 years. Fruit from the ‘Kirribilli’ vineyard in Coonawarra fermented to 14.2% alc., the wine aged 5-10 months in 10% new oak."
