Peekaboo. Pét Nat made from Grenache. Ordinarily this would be a juicy, plush red wine but James has made this by quickly pressing off the Grenache, giving it just the slightest pale pink, strawberry hue, then allowing it to finish ferment in the bottle. Easy drinking, crowd pleasing rosé pét nat (bottle fermented sparkling wine) with flavours of strawberry, guava and red apple.
Jauma ("Yaow-ma") are some of the earliest natural wines known to Australia and some of the first natural wines to ever make it to New Zealand. Winemaker James Erskine is based in South Australia where he and organic viticultural specialist Fiona Wood farm several vineyards together, often with a focus on old-vine, dry-grown bush vines. All of James's wines are organic, wild fermented, unadjusted, unfiltered, unfined (vegan) and with no added sulphites.
NB: All of James' wines, still or sparkling, are bottled under crown seal.
