This is a wonderful expression of dry Hawkes Bay Rosé from Waiana Estate – a small, perfectly formed boutique producer in the picturesque Tukituki Valley on the outskirts of Havelock North. Waiana Estate are a Rosé specialist that are unapologetically aiming for the stars. They want to be known as New Zealand's best dry Rosé producer and with this outstanding 2017 release they are really starting to walk the talk.

Vinted in the classic Provencal Rosé style, Indian Summer is a welcome counterpoint to the more fruit forward Rosés typically seen in Hawkes Bay and the striking modern livery is a surefire talking point at your next summer gathering. Lovely wine that is sure to put a smile on any dry Rosé fan's face. Highly recommended.

92/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (2017 Vintage)
"A fabulous dry style, the delicately expressed bouquet shows raspberry, Gala apple, white nectarine and floral aromas, leading to a vibrant palate that is pristine and lively. The wine offers elegance and bright fruit flavours, beautifully framed by refreshing acidity. At its best: now to 2019."

4 Stars & 17.5/20 Raymond Chan, October 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Very pale salmon-pink colour, very light-edged. The nose is very delicate with subtle aroma of white stonefruits with suggestions of red berry fruit and red florals with an overlay of thirst-quenching nutty less and mineral elements. Bone-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is mouthwatering with flavours of stonefruits with hints of berry fruit and nutty, mineral notes. The palate has fine, dry phenolic textures and crisp acidity, showing good vinous presence. The wine flows positively with linear drive leading to a lingering finish of stonefruits and minerals. This is a Provencal-style dry rosé with delicate fruit flavours and mouthwatering phenolics with crisp acidity, good vinosity and linearity. Serve as an aperitif or with antipasto over the next 2 year. 100% Merlot cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.3% alc. and 0.37 g/L RS."

Yvonne Lorkin (2017 vintage)
"Waiana is owned by the Plowman family who grow grapes on their property in the Tukituki Valley and this rose is named after their twin daughters India and Summer. Made using merlot and malbec grapes that are shepherded into the bottle by star winemaker Dave McKee, this is about as close to Provençale rosé as you’ll find in NZ. Dry, clean and boasting mountains of minerality."
