Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"The 2017 Pinot Gris was harvested from the two estate vineyards which certified Organic through BioGro. The Huia vineyard soil is river-run made up of sandy silts and stones which retain heat overnight. The grapes from this vineyard display lifted floral and fruit based aromatics. The Winsome vineyard soils are clay mixed with black sand. The nights are colder but the days are hotter and in this extreme climate the grapes show more weight and richness on the palate.

The grapes were harvested on the 4th April and 11th April. Both vineyards developed ripe flavours early in the season with grapes being fully flavour ripe at harvest. A mixture of wild yeasts resident in the winery and our non GMO organic wine yeast were used to take the wine through ferment. This wine was bottled in October 2017 with no clarification fining. This wine is vegetarian and vegan friendly.

Pear, apple and white blossom show on the nose. On the palate the flavours of white peach and nashi pear are supported by a soft creamy texture. There is a hint of mandarin and spice on the end palate. The wine is bright with fruit flavours and has a long balanced finish."

5 Stars Yvonne Lorkin, April 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Get ready for a total quince-fest in every mouthful! Direct from one of New Zealand’s top organic wine producers comes a dry, texturally rich pinot gris, jam-packed with poached pear and spicy peach flavours. The first sip brings on layers of fine, grainy, tongue-tingly senses which keeps you dipping back into the glass. Fresh as a daisy and intensely floral, it’s a generously proportioned pinot gris that shouts out to be savoured. Sip with lime roasted pumpkin and Caesar dressing."

94/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, September 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Into a bit of apricot and pear here, orange blossom, slight chalkiness to texture, balance between sweetness, acidity and fruit is excellent. Top of class here, or so it feels. "
