Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"Aromas of golden peach, fig, lemon peel and nougat characters with nuances of vanilla & hazelnut. Excellent palate weight and fruit intensity, wonderfully supported by a rounded mouthfeel and creamy texture. A lingering delectable finish.
Fermented in 4 parcels with a mix of oak barrels and stainless steel tanks and wild and selected yeasts. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation which occurred naturally, overlapping with the primary ferment. Approximately 10% new French barrels, including a mix of puncheons and barriques. The wine was aged on yeast lees for 11 months."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, November 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"It’s wonderfully fruited and inviting on the nose showing golden peach, fig, lemon peel, nougat and cashew characters. The palate delivers excellent weight and fruit intensity, wonderfully supported by rounded mouthfeel and creamy texture, leading to a persistent delectable finish. At its best: now to 2022."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2018 Vintage)
"The lively 2018 vintage is a single-vineyard wine, grown at the head of the Wairau Valley, and fermented and matured in tanks and French oak barrels. Bright, light yellow/green, with a citrusy bouquet, it has fresh, vigorous, grapefruit-like flavours, with some peachy notes, a gentle seasoning of toasty oak, and a crisp finish. Drink now-2022."
