Gold Medal – New Zealand Organic Wine Awards 2020
Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"Lime blossom, peach and red apple on the nose with a long, flavoursome palate of honeydew, pink grapefruit and quince."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"It is fabulously fruited and elegantly fragrant on the nose showing white fleshy nectarine, lemon peel, apple and floral characters with subtle spicy complexity. The palate displays excellent weight and focus, superbly structured by fine texture and racy acidity. Wonderfully poised and charming. Style: Off-dry. At its best: now to 2028."

5 Stars & 18.5+/20 Raymond Chan, November 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Bright, light straw-yellow with slight golden tints, pale on the rim. The nose is elegantly concentrated with a taut and fine core of lime and lemonade fruit along with honied notes, white florals and saline elements entwined with minerals. Medium-dry to medium to taste, and light-medium bodied, the palate has deeply intense and penetrating flavours of sweetly ripe citrus fruits melded with exotic white florals, honied and musk notes and mineral detail. The mouthfeel is bright, lively and zesty, with fresh, lacy acidity, the wine flowing along a smooth, unctuous line with some fine, balancing textures. The wine carries to a long and sustained finish of stonefruits and honey. This is a beautifully intense, medium-dry Riesling with exotic citrus, floral and honied flavours on an unctuous, but refreshing palate. Serve with fresh fruit or mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit from three blocks, over 4 passes, yielding 15% botrytis, fermented to 12.0% alc. and 22.3 g/L RS, TA 8.43 g/L and pH 3.13. Certified AsureQuality organic."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2017 Vintage)
"Greystone sees this wine as 'the truest expression of the variety for us'. Certified organic, the 2017 vintage was hand-picked, with some botrytis ('noble rot') influence. Bright, light lemon/green, it is medium-bodied, with fresh, strong, citrusy, slightly peachy and honeyed flavours, a distinct splash of sweetness (22 grams/litre of residual sugar), crisp acidity and lots of current-drinking appeal."
94/100 Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, June 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Sweet perfume, honey and buttery toast, whiffs of ripe lemon, ripe apples. Juicy, slick and long in flavour, though unctuous there’s great freshness as it exits the palate. Lush, come hither feel executed exceptionally well. Enjoy."
