Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2019
Grant Burge is the 5th Generation of his family to be involved in winemaking in the Barossa Valley. Named in honour of that fact, the 5th Generation Shiraz is a bold and bright, typically Barossan style showing plenty in the oomph and drinkability factors.
Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"The 2018 vintage saw an unusually dry summer and early autumn, coupled with the cool night-time temperatures allowed the vines to produce fruit with exceptional character and flavour while being harvested at lower degrees of sugar ripeness, producing vibrant, balanced, lower alcohol styles.
Aromas of lifted mulberry, clove, plum and milk chocolate, with confectionery notes as the wine opens up in the glass. The palate is medium – full bodied, this wine is plush and vibrant with strawberry jam, milk chocolate and blueberry characteristics. A lingering finish with a touch of fruit sweetness on the end."
Gavin Hubble, The Wine Guy 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"Packed with lush, dark berry flavours, with classic Barossa spice, subtle oak and smooth tannins."

4 Stars & Best Buy Cuisine Australian Shiraz Tasting, June 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"This wine represents terrific value, drawing praise from every judge on the Cuisine panel. It has lovely intensity and a fascinating flavour profile with exotic spices such as turmeric and allspice in the mix, along with tamarillo and deep blue fruits. The tannins are long and even. A balanced, very satisfying drop."
