GOLDEN CHILD MANIC MONDAY PINOT NOIR 2020

Golden Child is the project of young yet experienced winemaker James Hamilton. Using grapes grown by his father David from his own vineyard in Kuitpo in the southern Adelaide Hills, James uses his wealth of winemaking experience to bring the wines to bottle.

Having their own 20+-year-old vineyard gives the Hamiltons enormous flexibility with the wines and allows James to craft some pretty unique offerings. The fruit is all hand-picked, fermented with natural yeasts and crafted together gently and with minimum additions. The range is wide, colourful and wholly enjoyable.

"This is our spring version of Pinot Noir. It’s light and frisky, with heaps of cherries and strawberries and plenty of whole bunch freshness. Make sure you chill on warmer days. This wine is vegan friendly and was bottled unfiltered with minimal additives.

MV6 clone Pinot Noir was 2/3 whole bunch fermented wild for a little over one week. This was pressed directly to oak and later blended with a full carbonic maceration component (20%). The wine was aged in used Hogs Head barrels for three months then bottled early for freshness and vibrancy."
