Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Our 2017 GV Collection Pinot Noir, is a five vineyard blend: three Bendigo (50%), one Pisa (46%), and one Gibbston (4%). Bendigo provided structure and weight, Pisa: mid-palate fleshiness, Gibbston: fragrance.
Fruit from the various vines is vinified separately, utilising a range of whole cluster percentages (0-100%; 18% overall). We favoured a very gentle extraction regime limited to 1 punch down per day during fermentation. The wines were pressed individually, and spent 10 months in French oak, 23% new.
A complex wine with definite ageing potential. Fresh in nature with a spicy and sappy drive, red fruits, elegant form and a long mineral finish."
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2017 Vintage)
"The rewarding 2017 vintage is a blend of Bendigo (50 per cent), Pisa (46 per cent) and Gibbston (4 per cent) grapes, hand-picked and matured for 10 months in French oak casks (23 per cent new). Full, bright ruby, it is fragrant and supple, with strong, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing good complexity, supple tannins, and a finely balanced, persistent finish. Already very approachable, it's best opened mid-2020+."
