Giacomo Fenocchio's Barolo Bussia is sourced from 35 year old Nebbiolo vines grown in the village of Monforte d’Alba. After traditional vinification the wine is matured for 6 months in stainless steel tanks followed by 30 months in large capacity Slavonian oak casks and then further refinement in bottle before release.
96/100 Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, September 2021 (2017 Vintage)
"Rose petal, crushed herb and woodland berry aromas mingle with hints of forest floor and vanilla. Full-bodied and elegantly structured, the delicious palate doles out raspberry compote, ripe cherry, licorice and wild herb before closing on a salty note. Noble tannins provide firm support. Drink 2027–2032."
17/20 Walter Speller, Jancis Robinson, November 2020 (2017 Vintage)
"Lustrous mid ruby. Deep nose of cherry with hints of dark spice and just a touch of malt and a hint of mint. Succulent cherry fruit with a touch of gingerbread and gorgeous, finely ground tannins that go on and on without demanding all the attention. Elegant rather than powerful, but skilfully executed."
