Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Great example of the capacity of Barossa Semillion, punchy fruit driven nose with a grippy textural palate and mouth watering acid for days.
100% Semillion, three Vineyards 90-100 years old. 2 Barossa, 1 Eden Valley. 2 fermenters #1. 50% whole bunch, 50% destemmed fermented on skins for two weeks semi carbonically until dry. #2. 100% straight pressed juice, stainless fermented until dry. Blended and aged in 1950’s foudre for six months."
93/100 Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, January 2020 (2017 Vintage)
"Two Barossa and one Eden for the three vineyards here; and older vines. Some whole bunch and skin ferment in the mix. Matured in a 1950s foudre for twelve months, for character. From the character that is the vertically-excellent, Chesty Bonds Of The Barossa, grower-producer Dave Geyer.
Lively, interesting take on semillon, skinsy for sure, squeaky, green apple skin kind of feel, taste too, light slide then a burr of tangy acidity to close. Green apple, lemon-lime Splice, some gin notes, smoky, really exciting characters here, refreshing too. Like this a lot."
