Undoubtedly one of Italy’s most acclaimed reds with serious cellaring potential. The DOCG wine law decrees a minimum of 5 years from harvest before Brunello can be released on the market. Produced by Geografico, once a cooperative is now owned by the prestigious Piccini family. Their collaboration with winemaker Riccardo Cotarella – arguably Italy’s most famed oenological consultant – yields a bountiful expression in this attractive and generous wine.
The Geografico Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is a great classic Brunello from Montalcino that never disappoints. In the glass, this brunello has a very intense, cherry red colour. In the nose plums and black cherries, cocoa, tar, flowers, minerals and herbs. Powerful but juicy on the palate with beautifully clean fruit, soft tannins and pleasant acidity.

"Aromas of underbrush, dark spice and red berry mingle with a floral note. On the savoury, approachable palate, dusty tannins accompany red cherry, cranberry, star anise and a hint of coffee bean. Fresh acidity keeps it bright and tangy. Drink through 2028."
