The Piccadilly vineyard is a new one for Australian winery Gentle Folk and in our opinion has produced one of the best Pinot's we've had in a very long time. Sexy, smooth and luscious. It's 100% whole bunch but has a beautiful light elegance that you'd expected from a Burgundy with a high price tag. Just 5 cases in NZ.
"From Piccadilly vineyards (Whisson Lake & Bundenberg), Uraidla, Adelaide Hills. Planted in 1985 and 1996, clones D5V12 and 115, 520-550m, light loamy clay over sandstone with extensive schist and quartz rubble. Organically farmed. 100% whole cluster open top fermentation, 11 months in French oak barriques of which 25% new."

"Succulent pinot noir, just over light weight, savouriness personified with earthy, undergrowth, truffley, dried herbs notes the main deal around sour cherry and firm raspberry characters. Tannin is superb, al dente, maybe firmer, all black tea and bergamot. I love these pinot noirs. Proper. Fresh but savoury. So good."
