Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2019
With some of the oldest Riesling vines (38 years) in Marlborough, Framingham are absolutely passionate about Riesling – Jancis Robinson MW describes them as "New Zealand’s finest Riesling producer". This Classic is at the core of the Framingham range of Rieslings and is all about juicy fruits and balance. As usual with this "Classic", this 2019 is made in an off-dry style and is a absolute stunner that just bursts with citrus minerally fruits. We think its as good as they've ever produced and a fitting swansong for former winemaker and Riesling fanatic, Andrew Hedley.
Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Aromatics are reminiscent of mandarin, with hints of Belgian beer in the young wine, gin and tonic, stonefruit, and suggestions of smoke and rock. Vibrant, intense, focused palate with orange, Mayer lemon, and stone fruit flavours and a good line of juicy acidity."

"A medium-dry wine with subtle botrytis influence and good sweet-and-sour tension. Honey, grapefruit and mineral flavours.
