74% Merlot, 24% Malbec & 2% Tempranillo

Winery notes (2015 Vintage)
"This is a blend of 74% Merlot, 24% Malbec from our Gimblett Gravel Vineyard and 2% of Tempranillo from our Triangle Vineyard. Only 23 barrels were produced. This wine displays rich, ripe dark fruit, well-balanced acidity and beautiful tannin. It is an elegant wine with a core of ripe fruit and excellent structure."

5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"This is superbly ripe and beautifully composed, displaying fabulous aromas of cassis, dark plum, blueberry, vanilla and toasted hazelnut on the nose. The palate is concentrated and dense, and offers terrific fruit purity and intensity, wonderfully enhanced by velvety texture and fine, chalky tannins. At its best: now to 2021."

93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, March 2015 (2015 Vintage)
"Powerful, ripe and dark fruited bouquet with aromas of dark plum and plum juice, black cherry, blackberry and dark chocolate; a velvet texture within the bouquet adds both charm and intrigue; no mistaking the oak influence with toasty wood and dark baking spice suggestions. On the palate – dry, warm, lushly fruity with flavours of crushed dark cherry, baked raspberry and dark chocolate;contrasted by firm tannins and acidity; lots of energy on the palate and lengthy finish. A lovely wine – best suited to being served with food till 2020 (ish) then on its own (or with food) from 2020 through 2026."

4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2015 Vintage)
"The 2015 vintage has deep, youthful colour. Full-bodied, it's a generous red with concentrated, ripe plum, red berry and spice flavours, gently seasoned with oak, hints of dark chocolate and licorice, and excellent harmony and potential."

4 Stars & 18.0+/20 Raymond Chan, August 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"Full, deep, near impenetrable black-hued purple-red colour, youthful in appearance. The nose is elegantly concentrated with deep and well-packed aromas of ripe dark-red and black-berried fruits along with black plums and spicy elements, lifted by florals, unfolding dark herbs and black minerals. Medium-full bodied, the palate possesses rich fruit flavours of black and dark-red berry fruits entwined with spicy plums and dark herbs, and savoury earthy and mineral detail. The fruit sweetness is balanced by fine, grainy tannin extraction providing structure and grip. The mouthfeel features fresh, lacy acidity lending freshness and energy, and the wine carries to an elegantly concentrated finish. This is a rich black and dark-red fruited Merlot/Malbec blend with herbs, spices, earth and minerals on a grainy, but fresh palate. Match with lamb, beef, venison and game meat over the next 6-8 years. A blend of 74% Merlot and 24% Malbec from the ‘Gimblett Gravel’ vineyard with 2% Tempranillo from the ‘Triangle’ site, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 20 months in 38% new French oak barrels. 575 dozen made."
