93% Syrah & 7% Viognier
Côte-Rôtie "La Turque" is one of the flagship of the Domaine Guigal. A powerful wine with spicy notes, its terroirs from côte brune with "blond accents" lends it a great elegance.
98-100/100 Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, December 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"The potentially perfect 2015 Cote Rotie La Turque takes all of this vineyard’s exotic floral and herbal notes, red raspberry fruit, spice shadings and meaty complexity and compresses them into an incredibly dense, powerful and intense package. Full-bodied, rich and velvety yet ethereal at the same time, this incredibly long wine should prove to be a legend."
97-100/100 Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com, December 2018 (2015 Vintage)
"The 2015 Côte Rôtie La Turque (93% Syrah and 7% Viognier) is straight-up thrilling stuff and offers a massive, full-bodied style that stays seamless, incredibly elegant, and perfectly balanced. It doesn’t have the sheer weight or exotic quality of the La Mouline, yet gives up textbook crème de cassis, crushed rocks, violets, and graphite aromas and flavours. With fine tannins and a stacked mid-palate, it’s going to require 5-7 years of bottle age."
18+/20 JancisRobinson.com, June 2019 (2015 Vintage)
"More fragrant and open than La Mouline, aromatically speaking. Super-fine tannins, giving a chocolatey texture with delicious charred meatiness on the finish. Only just coming out of its shell, but there's loads of promise and purity on the palate – and again, that oak is entirely intertwined. Lengthy, powerful and svelte."
