70% Tempranillo & 30% Petit Verdot
Organic and Biodynamically farmed blend of Spain’s iconic Tempranillo with the classic but lesser-known Bordeaux variety Petit Verdot. Not the usual kind of blend but one that works so well. It's dark and brooding on the nose with seductive floral and tobacco notes. The palate is wonderfully mouthflling with cherry and dark berries and a good dollop of creamy oak. Rich, smooth and substantial tannins are complemented with a fine acidity and the finish is long and impressive.
Dominio de Punctum is situated in the town of Las Pedroneras at the north end of La Mancha. It was founded in 2005 and run by the Fernandez family, the estate currently includes over 150 hectares of vineyards. The winery is located adjacent to the vineyards allowing to keep the maximum quality in the production of the whites, reds, young and aged wines. Since the beginning they have focused on organic and biodynamic production.
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"Impressively fruited and richly expressed, the wine shows blackcurrant, spiced plum, violet, anise and olive characters on the nose. The palate delivers lovely concentration and succulent fruit intensity, wonderfully enhanced by fleshy texture and silky tannins. Mouthfilling and delicious. At its best: now to 2025."
89/100 Cameron Douglas MS, July 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"What’s really nice about this wine is the bouquet – it takes you on a different journey from so many of the typical wines we see, buy and enjoy – this wine has aromas of dried raspberry, cherry, fragrant too with baking spices of cinnamon and clove and a new sweet meat moment. Dry, fruity and new with flavours that reflect the nose, and textures of medium+ (ish) acidity, noticeable wood layer and complexity that adds an intrigue and style that will suit many palates looking for an alternative red wine experience. Balanced and well made. Drink now and through 2026+."

"Dark fruits, coffee and caramel aromas, vivid fruit on the nose, with a savoury background. Deep, brooding characters are also prominent on the palate, which is full, but not heavy or overbearing. A vinous, structured wine with a long finish that will open up over an evening and reveal more layers. Subtle, enigmatic, yet balanced and harmonious."
