Domaine Faiveley 2018 vintage report
"The vine grower’s hard work and in depth knowledge of the different parcels at Domaine Faiveley certainly paid off in the 2018 vintage. This expertise and understanding of the terroirs enabled Domaine Faiveley to control our yields and produce exceptionally high quality grapes. The vines were perfectly healthy and the clusters were compact and very ripe, which meant that we were required to do very little sorting. At this stage, the red wines are brightly coloured, rich and powerful with a round, velvety and very smooth structure. Their intense, rich and warm hue is quite similar to that of the 2009s. These are ripe, sunny and well-structured wines with powerful aromas of ripe and even stewed black fruits. Their seductive characters make them comparable to the 2017 and 2011 vintages. A very classic vintage that can be enjoyed in its youth and is already drinking beautifully."
90-93/100 Burghound (2018 Vintage)
"This is very Gevrey in character with plenty of sauvage, freshly turned earth, forest floor and brooding wild dark berry and cassis scents. There is fine richness to the concentrated, powerful and full-bodied flavours that exhibit a subtle minerality on the moderately austere and impressively long and slightly grippy finale."
