Domaine des Malandes is a family estate, combining traditional winemaking with the best modern equipment. The care and respect brought to the vinification process, and also to the various locations of the plots, contribute largely to the high quality wines which achieve many International awards.
Lyne Marchive runs this 29 ha domain since 1972, and cares a range of wines that covers the whole spectrum from Petit Chablis up to the two grand crus of Vaudesír and Les Clos, along with the young oenologist – Guenole Breteaudeau – who joined the team in 2006. Her approach, in both the vineyard and the cellar is to respect the environment, to produce wines of quality and typicity.
A fresh and complex expression of the premier cru plot with long finish. The cool, restrained and beautifully layered nose is rife with Chablis character: oyster shell, quince and citrus. There is first-rate concentration to the intense and muscular medium weight flavors that possess plenty of salinity on the delicious, clean and markedly dry finale. Elegantly balanced.
Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Our Chablis 1er cru Vau de Vey vineyard was planted in 1980 on a very steep hillside in front of the lake in Beiner. Our Chablis 1er cru Vau de Vay is inviting, with the right balance between the acidity the typically comes with Chablis wines and the round flavours that stem from a clay-limestone soil and a partial fermentation in oak barrels. It goes well with fish, white meat and some types of cheese."
93/100 Andy Howard MW, Decanter UK, October 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"Vines were planted in the 1980s by the domaine on the steep slopes of Vau de Vey, overlooking Beine. Partially aged in oak barrels, this adds an extra dimension to the concentrated palate. A fine example with plenty of acidity to balance the ripeness of fruit. Should age very well."

94/100 Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast, March 2022 (2020 Vintage)
"This spirited expression of Chablis is marked by bright peels of tangerine and white blossom perfume. Pulsating with grapefruit and white-melon flavours yet anchored by a core of chalky, mineral complexities, this penetrating Chardonnay is welcoming young but will likely improve through 2030 and hold further. "
