Winery notes (2015 Vintage)
"A fuller bodied, textural style of Sauvignon Blanc. This single vineyard parcel is situated within the Dog Point Vineyard, using the same low cropping level from vines planted in 1992. Fruit is hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented and aged in older French oak barrels for 18 months. Bottled without fining.

Ripe aromas of grapefruit and lemons with overt white floral characters in the forefront. The hint of struck match aromas characteristic of this wine, reflect the use of solids during fermentation and ageing, adding a dimension of complexity and interest. The palate displays vibrant, varietal Sauvignon qualities, with citrus, racy fresh acidity and after 18 months of ageing on lees, creamy textures and a toasty, nutty finish."

"Looking for 'texture, rather than rich aromatics', Dog Point fermented and lees-aged its 2015 vintage Sauvignon Blanc for 18 months in seasoned French oak casks. Hand-harvested in the Dog Point Vineyard (for which 'Section 94' was the original survey title), at the confluence of the Brancott and Omaka valleys, and fermented with indigenous yeasts, it is light yellow/green, fragrant and mouthfilling. A fleshy, complex, tightly structured wine, it has deep, ripe, non-herbaceous fruit flavours, gently seasoned with oak, that build to a finely balanced, very long finish. Already highly enjoyable, it should be long-lived."

95/100 Nick Stock (2015 Vintage)
"The trademark reductive complexity will surprise the regular sauvignon-blanc drinker and delight those who delve into great white Burgundy. Flinty lemon and grapefruit pith and really fresh, river-stone minerals, the palate has a gently creamy array of lime and green-mango flavors. Super wine. Drink now. Screw cap."

94/100 Tim Atkin (2015 Vintage)
"A wine that's consistently a match for all but the very best (and much more expensive) wines of Pessac-Léognan, this deftly oaked Marlborough Sauvignon ages brilliantly too. Leesy, rich yet beautifully balanced, it combines flavours of vanilla spice, gooseberry fool, lanolin and vivid acidity. One of the region's very best expressions of the grape."
