Winery notes (NV)
"A bright straw colour with a steady bead of small bubbles offers a fine and persistent mousse. The aromatics consist of clean, fresh strawberry, citrus and orange peel balanced with complex biscuit and bread characters. The palate offers fresh and lively acidity showing perfect integration of yeast-derived autolysis and nutty characters accompanied with elegant primary fruit flavours."

5 Stars, Best Buy & No.1 Cuisine Sparkling Tasting, October 2018 (NV)
"Daniel Le Brun NV is sourced from 13 different vineyards across the Wairau Valley with the varietal mix being 70% chardonnay and 30% pinot noir. To layer in depth, there is an impressive 27% of older reserve wine in the final blend. This is a fine, fresh style with lovely focussed fruit that makes for a terrific aperitif-style sparkling. Well-defined lines suit the elegant flavour profile of citrus, chalk and yeasty bread. This year’s top sparkling comes from a house that first put down roots in Marlborough in the 1970s. Although the winery has since changed ownership, its unwavering commitment to quality and detail keeps this house at the top of its game.

The non-vintage house style is one of the most important wines in a sparkling house portfolio as it defines both the quality and the style of the producer. The Le Brun NV has the benefit of 2-3 years of ageing on lees, a length of time normally reserved for more prestigious vintage wines. The time on lees before riddling and disgorging is part of the secret art of the winemaker as he or she must determine how long is the optimum time to build texture and complexity, while maintaining freshness and structure in the wine."

4 Stars Michael Cooper, 2018 Edition (NV)
"A non-vintage blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, grown in Marlborough, it is disgorged after at least two years on its yeast lees. Top batches are highly impressive – tight and rich, with lovely vibrancy and depth of citrusy, appley, peachy flavours, yeasty, bready notes adding real complexity, and a finely balanced, lasting finish."

4 Stars & 18.0/20 Raymond Chan, December 2018 (NV)
"Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with some depth, the bubbles very fine and very persistent. The nose is elegant in presentation with very fresh aromas of white and yellow stonefruits and apples along with a light, but concentrated core of delicate bready-yeasty autolysis. This is softly rounded and gentle in expression, but builds in intensity with aeration. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has fresh and sweet fruit flavours of white and yellow stonefruits and notes of apples and citrus fruits forming a rich, lush core. The fruit is entwined with subtle, restrained autolysis bread notes which lend a fine guiding line, with fresh acidity enlivening the mouthfeel and some creamy effervescence. This is refreshing and mouthwatering, and the flavours carry to a lingering finish. This is a fresh, up-front, fruit-focussed method traditionnelle with subtle autolysis and a mouthwatering palate. Serve as an anytime sparkling over the next 2-3 years. Hand-picked fruit from the Wairau Valley, 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir fermented to 12.5% alc. and aged 2-3 months on lees with MLF, then following secondary fermentation aged a minimum of 3 years on lees with a dosage of 8 g/L. Lot L170619-14."
