Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"A fantastic expression of what our Greywacke river Stones are capable of, this Sauvignon Blanc has a fresh acid backbone and delicate salinity lead to a mouth-watering mineral finish.
Fermentation occurred in 85% stainless steel and 15% old French oak barrels. The wine was then aged on fine yeast lees for 8 months with lees stirring, both of which enable us to obtain a round Sauvignon Blanc with body and mouthfeel."
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"The Clos Henri Vineyard near Renwick is owned by Henri Bourgeois, a leading, family-owned producer in the Loire Valley, who feels this wine expresses ‘a unique terroir… and French winemaking approach’. A sophisticated and distinctive Sauvignon Blanc, in top years it’s a joy to drink. Certified organic, the 2019 vintage was hand-picked and mostly fermented and matured on its yeast lees in tanks; 10 per cent was fermented and aged in French oak barrels. Bright, light lemon/green, it is weighty and fleshy, with concentrated, tropical fruit flavours, showing good complexity, and a rich, dry, well-rounded finish. Drink now or cellar."
95/100 James Suckling (2019 Vintage)
"This is so polished and concentrated. It has superbly fresh lime, passion fruit and guava, as well as some fresh herbs and wet stones. The palate has attractively detailed and focused flavours with a zesty, fresh line of acidity and plenty of intense, lively and refreshing lime and passion-fruit flavor. Sleek and polished. Drink over the next three years."

Rated Outstanding & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, October 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"An enticing bouquet of mineral and preserved citrus peel, apple and apricot, peach and herbs. There’s a delicate toasty layer from mineral and initial bottle development. On the palate – silky textured, elegant, poised and dry. Flavours of citrus, stone and tree fruits reflect the nose supported by acidity and a touch of spice, wood and minerality. Lengthy and intriguing finish, complex and well made. Best drinking from today and through 2025+."
94/100 Wine Enthusiast (2018 Vintage)
"This is a rich, highly aromatic vintage of Clos Henri’s Sauvignon. Like a nose full of dehydrated fruit (peaches and pineapples), candied ginger, pressed buttercups, grass and minerals, there’s a touch of oak influence here, too. Highly textural, the mouthfeel is rich and creamy but with vibrancy and freshness and a lengthy, tingly saline finish. A full-bodied, food-friendly drop now (try with a Thai curry), this has the ability to age until 2028."
