“Clones 10/5, 5, 667, 777, 114, 115 and Abel grown on ‘Broadbridge’ clay soils, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 25% new French oak. Deep, dark ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues, lighter on edge. The bouquet is elegant and ethereal with bright dark red berry fruits and layers of dark herbs with spicy oak. Layers of florals emerge, and the aromas grow in volume and intensity in the glass. Medium-full bodied, tightly packed and concentrated flavours of bright dark red berry fruits are entwined with subtle herbal elements and distinctive oak spices. The fruit is supported by very fine-grained sinewy tannins and balanced, lacy acidity, which provides drive and linearity. The palate core has detail and nuance which carries through to a sustained finish. This is an elegant, well-concentrated Pinot Noir with a fine, sinewy texture. It will unfold and become richer over the next 6+ years. Match with lamb, beef and hard cheeses.”

Deep ruby, it is full-bodied and sweet-fruited, with generous cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, complex and savoury, fine-grained tannins, and excellent depth, suppleness and harmony. Best drinking 2015+.”

It finishes long.”

“Aromatically this is slightly riper than its 2013 counterpart though the fruit profile is otherwise quite similar. There is good richness, volume and solid mid-palate concentration to the delicious and caressing medium-bodied flavours that possess a velvety mouth feel before terminating in a sneaky long, balanced and seductive finale where the only nit is very mild hint of warmth. This is really quite pretty and it’s already at a stage where it could be enjoyed now though I would be inclined to wait a few more years for better depth to develop.”
