New from Churton, the Natural State Field Blend White is a juicy, vibrant, textured white that balances vibrant acid with rich, textured aromatics. A blend of Petit Manseng, Viognier and Sauvingon Blanc picked on the same day. Organic, unfined, unfiltered with minimal S02 additions.
Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Our Natural State Field Blend is a wine for the present. It is vibrant and fresh, yet multi layered and textural. Our 2020 Field Blend is incredibly aromatic, exhibiting aromas of fresh spring blossom and ripe white stone fruits. On the palate this wine is ever evolving. It is a rich and voluptuous to start, before seamlessly transitioning to a clean crisp finish. Excellent length, bright acidity.
Our distinctive hillside vineyard above the Waihopai Valley was planted in 2000 with a European approach, close vine spacing and high density (approx. 5,000/ha). We manage the vineyard according to principles of biodynamics and organics. Our Natural State Field Blend is comprised of the three white varieties we grow at Churton; Viognier, Petit Manseng and Sauvignon Blanc. We hand harvested the three varieties on the same day with the intention of combining plush Sauvignon blanc with ‘on point' Viognier and slightly under ripe Petit Manseng. This wine has had no fining or filtration and is vegan friendly."

93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, December 2019 (2019 Vintage)
"A wine that is made from fruit using organic and bio-dynamically managed vineyards this Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Manseng and Viognier blend shows aromas of tropical fruits and lemon, honeysuckle and white peach, quince and white flowers. On the palate – a dry wine with core of fruit and flavours that reflect the nose, an abundance of acidity that grows in intensity with each taste. The core of fruit contrasts the texture well lengthening the palate and finish as well as highlighting the flavours described. Balanced and well made, ready to enjoy and will age a little through 2020. Overall a lovely wine."
